Hi everyone,

I was able to sort out the problem with fans for the SB1000 system using
some new Papst 12 VDC fans I bought from an Ebay seller that I fixed to
the mounting frame (they are not as deep as the fans the frame was
intended for so I secured them by drilling holes in the plastic frame and
bolting them in place).

I've got the system going and have the old 73 GB 80-pin SCSI disk running
happily in an external box until I get the time to use ufsdump/ufsrestore
to copy the filesystems over to the new 73 GB FCAL disk I bought.

I've got an issue with the system which seems that it might be an
Xscreensaver bug (why is that not surprising?) which results in the
machine rebooting with a CPU error randomly.

It did it at 3.45 am today, and just after I got home from work a short
while ago. The screensaver was running at the time, hence the possible
Xscreensaver connection. I remember that there have been Xscreensaver bugs
tripping strange hardware faults in the past with other Sun platforms...
I'll have to see if there are any patches that I can access via the public
SunSolve patch portal (don't have access to the private area).

Is anyone else aware of a problem of this sort with a SunBlade 1000 system
running Solaris 9?

Regards,

Craig.
