Hi everyone,

At the end of December I will be de-registering for GST thereby officially 
ending the operation of SRK until a time in the future when I feel it's 
worth re-instating the business. Second hand equipment is now worth so 
little (just look at the prices anything but really recent systems sell 
for on Ebay) that it'd be a fruitless effort to keep operating at this 
very low ebb. Things like E450's sell for under $100 in decent config's 
now - Ultra 60's are just above give-away items. The hardware is still 
perfectly usable but in terms of the commercial marketplace, it's value is 
practically nil.

I still have a stack of miscellaneous gear here which will slowly be sold 
off through Ebay. It's mostly just various parts, etc. and the only 
systems I have not being used are a bunch of SS5's (worth nothing now), 
plus the odd SS10 and a defective Ultra 2. Some of the SS5's have badly 
rusted case linings and weather damaged power supplies so they're 
throw-away items that are going in the council cleanup this month.

I'd like to thank all of you for your custom since 1996 (hard to think 
it's actually 10 years since I kicked off SRK!) and if the time does come 
that re-activating the business in the way it was in the late 1990's and 
few years after that when the volume of equipment moving through was very 
large, I'll re-start the mailing list and build things back up again.
