On Solaris 9 cannot get
#nslookup www.sun.com   cannot find server
#ping www.sun.com    no answer
to work .
However using Netscape I can navigate to any page and it seems to work okay.
Setting up email I can receive email but cannot send. Get a message SNMP 
authentication failure. Mail settings have been double checked and seem 
okay.
I installed Solaris9 on this box in 2004 and am trying to get the network 
settings installed, which were not installed on the original installation of 
Solaris9. Did not feel confortable using sys-unconfig.

The box is on a P2P network attached via cat5 cable to a 
switch/router/serial modem to my dial up ISP.

Would appreciate a check of the relevant files I have changed and a mention 
any I have forgot to change.
