Hello, thanks to all who helped me get my little sun on the network. So far it is doing everything I like except for when I change to SU for some tasks. I use the korn shell (ksh) on here as my main shell. I also have a history key and backspace delete keys mapped somewhere to do the right thing as well. What I want to be able to do is pass all of this stuff to SU so it performs Exactly like my user account. I am annoyed if I make a typo under SU that I get ^? and the like in my commands if I try to overwrite the mistake, and also history key (mapped to ^P ) prints exactly that (^P) I have already accidentally created directories with ^ characters in them, which I had to remove, as once I cleared the mistake, although the syntax looked OK, the ^ char was still silently embedded in it... Also I cannot get filename completion under SU either. Is all this meant to be for security? I really would prefer convenience sometimes especially when I mistype something. I know what the various commands are (I think) so how do I pass the environment I am used to to SU? I have tried several things but nothing works.... thanks Rachel
