I am trying to read audio input from /dev/audio on a Sun SparcClassic. The audio(7) man page says I can simply open the device with open() and read it with read(), and that read() should block until the buffer is full. However, when I try to do this, read does not block. Instead it simply copies as many bytes as have already been sampled into the buffer and then returns. Why is it acting in this way? Is this what it is supposed to be doing? Malcolm
