Where is static dl library

Hi

I'm trying to compile gnu ls so that I can have a version of ls that doesn't
need copies of the shared libraries when run by anonymous ftp users.

When I link the program with the -Bstatic option the linker complains about
unresolved names (dlopen, dlsym and dlclose from memory).

I presume these functions are in the dl library but I only have
/usr/lib/libdl.so* files. I'm running Solaris 2.4 by the way.

Does anybody know how I can get a static version of the dl library?

Thanks for your time.
