Hi

I am having a problem with the proper hyphenation of two paragraphs
in the following text. This is in spite of my having a hyphenation
file with contents as below. Is my only solution to rewrite the
paragraphs?  I hope not.

File prob.tex

 \documentclass[11pt]{report}
 \usepackage{a4}
 \input{Hyphen}

 There is also some confusion regarding MML and MDL. Indeed, there is
 what can be called a whole family of names --- Minimum Message Length,
 Minimum Encoding Inference, Minimum Description Length, Mini\-mum
 Length Inference, Minimum Information Estimation --- all of which one
 has seen used in the literature and more. It seems that an author
 generally picks one of these that sounds most fashionable to him or

 Non-diagramattically, a PFSA can be represented as a set of 4-tuples
 $(S_1, S_2, M, P)$ where $S_1, S_2 \in S$, a finite set of states, $M
 \in \Sigma$, a finite set of output symbols, and $0 \le P \le 1$ is
 the probability of transiting on $M$ from $S_1$ to $S_2$.
 Alternatively, $P \in W$, in which case it stands for the frequency of
 transitions on $M$ in that 4-tuple. $\{(0,1,A,n), (1,2,B,n),
 (2,3,C,n), (3,4,D,n)\}$ would be an ASCII representation of the PFSA
 just considered. With the anomalous event B', a PFSA encoding would
 be as in...

File Hyphen.tex

 \hyphenation{Mini-mum}
 \hyphenation{Mes-s-age}
 \hyphenation{Des-crip-tion}
 \hyphenation{En-co-ding}
 \hyphenation{Prin-ci-ple}
 \hyphenation{In-fer-ence}

Any help on how to solve this will be greatly appreciated. The
second line in the 1st para and the 5th line in the second cause
overfull boxes and it looks bad.

Many thanks for a reply via email.
