Most people are lazy, soft-headed sheep who can be brainwashed into doing
many (many) things that are obviously not in their best interests - this
is called "Capitalism" a.k.a. "The Free Market", and it is very popular.

And if most people didn't have more money than they really know what to do
with, they would spend the time to shop smartly rather than let their
lives be influenced by the "convenience" of having decisions made by their
TV sets for them.
