After a pet was stolen, I went to lookup its microchip number to make sure it was microchipped, as the vendor has claimed. I found that there are at least 3, perhaps as many as 5 registers of domesticated animals in Australia. Should there not just be ONE? What is the point, other than to make money out of dupes? I note that one of these websites said that the microchip was not on their database, and implored me to add it also to their dodgy scheme.
