Some years ago there was a request from the Japanese government to the Australian government to allow Japan to develop a storage site for Japan's nuclear waste. I can't remember the date off-hand (can anyone help me with this?) but I would like to know why they would want to do this if most of their n-waste is sent to Europe for re-processing into Plutonium and then returned to Japan. Is it that there is some n-waste that cannot be so converted or what? Ian Rowe ilr@perth.dialix.oz.au
