evening, noticed these groovy new newsgroups hanging off aus.environment and went *wow* my gf is looking for a job in Australia in environmental *something* (presently she's a palaeontologist at UNSW) "I wonder if there is anyone out there". so what are these newsgroups for? discussion of environmental issues? I know that my gf would be very interested in being able to communicate with people in her field on the net and perhaps even establish relationships which would see her moving into fields she is interested in like geographical ecology thru to continuing her work in palaeontology. something to tempt discussion: "so why doesnt new zealand have the fossil record of animals which appear in the australian fossil record around the time the australia was attatched to new zealand?" and "how large an area is needed to sustain the extinction/evolution cycle of australian native plants and animals? are our rainforests large enough?"
