Hi! :)

It is nice to see that society entered into the 21st century without any major 
negative events - Y2K - the biggest non-event ever...  However, I will say that 
we did celebrate this New Year, unlike in years past, by watching each major 
time zone ring in the New Year on CNN and on the Internet.  It was extremely 
beautiful watching other parts of the world ring in the 21st century, and it kind of 
gave one a feeling of how connected we really are on this planet to one 
another...   In any event, in the interest of keeping you informed with our latest 
news, we just thought we would share with you some of the upcoming February 
highlights we have in the works...

Since it is the middle of winter, and being located here in the central valley of 
northern California, we are treated to days of cold, fog, and rain through most of 
the season - stuff that cuts straight to the bones at times.  Therefore, the brew 
crew has come up with a very tasty scotch ale to help warm up your insides 
and shake off some of those "cold" wintry feelings.  Our Hoppy Scotch Ale 
weighs in at a hearty 7.8% alcohol by volume!  It is made with six malts, 
including an imported Scottish malt, Northdown hops, and just a wee bit of our 
secret ingredient - orange blossom honey.  This brew has been receiving rave 
reviews from our customers since it was released last week, so you need to 
make sure to get down here sooner than later to give it a try before it runs out...

Other news on upcoming brews includes, a honey wheat ale, which should 
arrive just in time for Valentine's Day, and a Super Hoppy� Pale Ale is 
scheduled to arrive on the taps in March.  The Super Hoppy will have IBU's in 
the triple digits, and will give people coming in asking for a Pale Ale (thinking 
they're getting something like a Sierra Nevada) something actually to write 
home to mom about.  In addition, some of our regular customers have created 
a concoction they call "Pink Sunshine", which is 3/4 Liquid Sunshine and 1/4 
Pink Lemonade, and (believe it or not) is actually really good...


Recently, on Thursday, January 20th, we witnessed a Total Eclipse of the 
Moon (pretty fantastic), so you probably have guessed by now that we had our 
Total Eclipse� Black Ale on special from 8:05pm until 9:22pm for only a buck 
during the eclipse.  Sorry about not promoting it more, but things around here 
can change pretty quickly from time to time, usually to our customers benefit, 
so it pays just to be around here when it does...


Our lucky Super Bowl winner, Mr. Alan Haley and his wife, are extremely 
excited about winning the drawing, and rumor has it that they will be sporting 
Hoppy Gear in Atlanta for the BIG GAME this coming Sunday, January 30th!!!  
In addition, we would like to thank KWOD and Capone for coming out each 
Monday night this past football season helping to promote us, them, and of 
course the game, and we look forward to working with them again next year!!!

With the Super Bowl in mind, we will be televising two BIG sporting events that 
day.  Starting at 9:00am we will be featuring a Kings Breakfast Special!  With 
the Kings being on national television at such an early hour, we thought we 
would offer breakfast (a first for Hoppy) to those die-hard fans who come out to 
support their local team and watch them play.  We know it is early, but we will 
also be featuring our Kings "Jon Barry" Ale for only a $1.00 while they are on 
the TV.  Later that day, we will feature all of our beers on-tap for only $1.00.  The 
beer special will start at 2:00pm, and last until someone scores in the BIG 
Super Bowl game.  Kick-off is at 3:25pm, so come early to ensure that you get 
a great seat to watch the BIG GAME!!!


In addition to our normal daily Hoppy Hour from 4-7pm and our LATE-NIGHT 
Hoppy Hour from 10-11pm, featuring $2.25 pints and $8.00 pitchers, the Hoppy 
Crew has been busy spreading awareness of our South Park Night's on 
Wednesday's from 10:00pm until Kenny dies - all beers on tap are only $1.00!  
Also, stay tuned for news as to when Comcast and Kenny will make a "special" 
appearance to sign autographs.  In addition to Wednesday's special, on 
Monday's we are instituting a $1.00 bartender selected beer from 9:00pm until 
Ally McBeal falls down each week.  Make sure to arrive early to help influence 
which beer the bartender chooses...  Finally, for those interested in watching 
our NBA leading Sacramento Kings on TV, we feature our Kings "Jon Barry" 
Ale for only a buck whenever they are playing on the TV!!!


With Valentine's Day fast approaching, make sure to book your reservation 
early so that you can have the greatest likelihood of getting your first choice of 
time/location to celebrate that day with someone special.  The menu feature 
for that evening will be a uniquely prepared plate of King Crab Legs and a 21 
ounce Porterhouse Steak for two, which will also include a Valentine's Day 
desert - all for only $30.00.  Not to be forgotten, but for the "unattached" on this 
day, we will be serving a very tasty steak special, which will include one 
complimentary beverage and one little Hershey kiss for only $15.00...

If Valentine's Day does not make your heart skip a beat or two, our Blood 
Donation Day is set for the very next day - February 15th, from 1-5:00pm - 
should accomplish that task...  The Hoppy Crew will be helping out our local 
blood bank by donating some of our blood when the blood mobile arrives, 
and for our customers that stop by to donate as well, we will be glad to honor a 
"Give-a-Pint & Get-a-Pint" incentive.  Once you have made your contribution, 
just present your "I gave blood today sticker" to your server/bartender and 
they will gladly serve you a fresh pint of brew for your community support.  Limit 
one per customer...


Our Lucky Lunch Winner for the month of January was Mr. Matthew Swenson, 
from the The Swenson Group.  Congratulations Mr. Swenson!  We look forward 
to serving you your complementary lunch!!!

forget to drop your business card in the jar by the door on your way out to
be eligible to win a complimentary Lunch and Drink on us.  As my Mom says, 
"you can't win if you don't play" - thanks Mom...

Hopefully that will be enough to satiate your news appetite until our "regular" 
bimonthly newsletter comes out next month...

use your help when you are out there in the bars, restaurants, grocery stores, 
and etc.  How can you help us you may be asking yourselves???  Well...we 
need you to ask your local retailer(s) for our products (to the point of bugging 
them if necessary), so that you are able to buy the products that you "really" 
want - not just what is on the store shelf, or on-tap, at the moment...

You, the consumer, have more power than you may know.  Speak up, speak 
clearly, and your earnest taste buds may reap those proactive rewards.  If you

Liquid Sunshine� Blonde, Hoppy Face� Amber, and Total Eclipse� Black Ales, 
along with our Hoppy Springs� "Pre-Brewed" Spring Water outside of 
attending a local festival, or even visiting us here at our full-service brewpub in 
Sacramento...
