Geoff Huston advised me of that method, I tried it, and the mail was delivered
in 3 days (don't know why it was slow). The recipient sent a message to me
which arrived in < 1 day.

The following is an extract from a previous post I submitted on the subject...

According to "The Matrix" (by John Quarterman ?), one sends mail to
Intermail@isi.edu, and the text begins as follows....
       Forward: COMPMAIL
       To: user:host
       (blank line)
       (text of message)

I tried it, and the result was
      a) it didn't arrive
      b) I didn't get a bounce message
which means it went into a black hole somewhere.

Quarterman must have had a high confidence that it would work to put it in his
book, so I I must have done it wrongly, but I don't know how.
