Could anyone out there tell me about the German Btx system? I have seen numbers on letterheads in the form Btx *XXXXX# (XXXXX represent numbers). Is this a form of e-mail? If so ... is there a way of mailing to these from Internet? Also Telex numbers seem to be in use over there-- I don't think there would be a way to send to these because of the costs involved to a gateway site but is there a number that thay use to send a message to an Internet site? ---MJD

No, it is no e-mail. The communication channel for btx is the telephone line, the device you need is a mixture of telephone and computer. I don't think, there is any conection between e-mail net and btx. Nic. Nistor, University of Munich.
