I want to send mail to a user on Fidonet. The address of the board is given as
3:634/289 and, initially, I want to send to myself, Peter Summers. What is the
correct address to use?

Thanks,

Peter

Peter, the correct format when sending mail to fidonet from AARnet is as
follows:

user.name@fxxx.nxxx.zx.fidonet.org

Where:

f = Node number
n = Net Number
z = Zone number ( Australia Zone 3 )

Therefore:

3:634/289

Peter.Summers@f289.n634.z3.fidonet.org

It is also possible to use IXgate (3:713/602 or fido.zeta.org.au) to
communicate between FidoNet and the Internet:

[Using the same key as above]:

firstname.lastname@fxxx.nxxx.zx.fido.zeta.org.au

(Note: for FidoNet Zone 3 mail, the `zx' above can be omitted.)

So Peter Summers at 3:634/289 is Peter.Summers@f289.n634.fido.zeta.org.au.

Craig.
