Packet loss to national.gw.au ?

Last night (and other nights), I've noticed this sort of performance :

--- national.gw.au ping statistics ---
12 packets transmitted, 8 packets received, 33% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 147.7/212.0/330.8 ms

I packets are getting lost on the national gateway, what hope is there of
them getting to nearly anywhere without loss ?

Anyone know if this problem will be fixed?
