Not only that, they use a hacked version of the Kerberos protocol
to authenticate to the proxy server, so you can't just use your
Netscape on Linux. You have to use their package which only runs
on Win95 or Mac (they state that it works on Win3.11 but after
some testing I found out that it in fact does not).

You need to get the latest dhcpd from sunsite -- version 0.65

Basically anything that's not proxied is blocked, except for a few
things like telnet and RealAudio.

As of a few days ago they changed it so you can now collect mail
from a POP server.

Correct.

No, I checked with their staff. Downloads from their server don't
count against the 100MB limit.

In fact they are not volume charging at all until September.
Hopefully I'll be on Optus Vision by then.

Also see my web page with a summary of the information
and my experiences. I also explain how to connect a Linux
box to the system (using Win95 as a proxy, sadly).
