The DSTO network was disrupted during last weekend by a router failure in
Melbourne. It affected connectivity between sites in Melbourne and from
Melbourne to Salisbury, Canberra and AARNet.

Efforts were made over the weekend to restore connectivity but were
unsuccessful.

In the near future procedures will be improved for dealing with week-end
failures. CIS also plans to improve network reliability by adding
dial-back-up links for automatic recovery from situations like this.

CIS apologises for any inconvenience caused by the loss of those WAN services.
