In  a connectionless  packet-switched environment performance of an end-to-end
connection is dictated by the performance of the most congested  component  of
the flow. 

Given  that  the  Australian  - US link operates a full saturation levels with
non-zero packet loss levels in the 10-8 weekday timeslot at present, the above 
advice is very misguided indeed.
