I have spoken with our account representative (not for the first time today). At 12:34 Telecom suffered a major system failure. This brought down one of their 562 Mb bearer links between Canberra and Sydney, and since that time they have been trying to patch around it. I am told that they are about half way done, which I guess could suggest that it might be another 5 hours or so before our service is restored. Obviously we are not the only customer affected so some effort is being made to restore the service. Stay tuned ...
