Do you want others reading your email? > > The recently passed legislation doesnt provide for that. ABC online news: "*Obscene e-mail may become illegal* The Federal Government has revealed some private emails could be illegal under new Internet censorship laws if they include obscene material. The new legislation, passed yesterday, empowers the Australian Broadcasting Authority to order the removal or blocking of online material which it deems offensive. Communications Minister Richard Alston said some private e-mails were personal transactions which would not lend themselves to prying by third parties. But he says some e-mails, for example those sent to a group, would not be regarded as normal e-mails under the new legislation and therefore could be illegal." (copied from ABC site) Another issue is a case where one member of a mailing list thought your e-mail was obscene, and formalised a complaint, while the rest of the group thought your e-mail was merely irreverent wit or satire.
