I can imagine that most people have no continuing interest in this flame
war and I won't follow any more of it, but I wish to point a finger at
some of the bizarre statements by hiscdcj@lux.latrobe.edu.au (Dwayne
Jones-Evans), who wrote the following lines (amongst many others) in the
article I am responding to:

>I had no desire to hear her opinions. I was making a comment on her
>personality.  The worth of her opinions flows on from that.

>I coouldn't be bothered wasting the bandwidth. It kind of summed upwhat
>I wanted to say, really.

>Well, given the votes for and against me so far, your opinion is
>definately in the minority.

>Umm, yah boo sux to you, and people in glass houses, etc. I mean, so
>occasionally I use rude words, but at least I can string words together
>properly.

What do these quotations show?  First, Wayne seems unable to sustain any
kind of intellectual case and appears to think he can make a point by
abuse.  Second, Wayne seems to think that somebody's personality is the
chief determinant of the value of their opinions.  Third, although Wayne
seems to believe that it's fine for him to attack other people's ability
to use language perfectly, he either cannot spell or doesn't care enough
about his readers to bother checking what he has written.  Finally, it
seems that Wayne suffers from the delusion that he can write well.  I'm
glad I won't be wasting my time with any more of his largely content
free drivel in the future.

As an aside, if anybody wishes me to be aware of any response to this
article, make sure that it's done either by e-mail (preferred, for
obvious reasons) or that it goes to aus.org.efa, as I do not read any of
the other groups this went to.
