In article <ru3oqv2elg792@news.supernews.com>, isemmel@rocketcomp.com.au says... > But they would know something has happened. Any sort of protest is always > denigrated in such a manner > > These are the people we have to get through to. You won't get that standing > on a street corner with a placard. I think that the protest has to be > something that just can't be ignored. I have to say I agree with HR Gibson - we don't want to fuel the pro- censorship lobbyists by sending porn to people who don't want to receive it. I think we would be far better of emailing round a list of URLs that provide useful, interesting, educational information that is also likely to be filtered out. For example, the Reach Out suicide information site supported by JJJ that aims to help teenagers realise suicide is not a good idea; advice on contraception or other medical-related sites; certain political sites that use the word "anarchy" on their pages (this word is filtered out by the software that Alston supposedly recommends). There's a ton of sites out there that the pro-censorship lobbyists might not realise they're going to lose access to. As for ISP's reactions to mass email protests, if you break the ISP's ToS it won't matter which email address you use - you can be tracked down by anyone who can read email headers and your ISP will then have to figure out which of its customers did the deed. (Which may not be as hard as it sounds.) Emma -- "It's not that I condone Fascism or any 'ism' for that matter - 'isms' in my opinion are not good.
