email lists or aliases?

Hello ALL,
I have just sent the following to webmanager@aph.gov.au

You have listed email addresses for both Members and Senators
at http://www.aph.gov.au/ However, I recall that at my last
workplace, they had set up ALIASES for LISTS of email addresses.
(especially in our case to cope with those who were members of a
professional association). This reduced the amount of external
traffic on the Internet, as all distribution at each site was handled
on the LAN.
Please, does aph.gov.au have such aliases, either for all
Senators, all Members or all those in one party? Without them,
anyone mailing to all Senators, for example, would be sending 76
separate email messages, instead of ONE. (worse for the House).
Regards,
Colin F Vance

My response
Thanks for your speedy reply. Of course, without them,
anyone mailing to all Senators, for example, would be sending 76
separate email messages, instead of ONE. (worse for the House).
