Personally, I'm in favour of Howard's activities.  In my opinion, the
quality of ABC programming has been declining for some years and the
network is considerably over-rated at present.

What have been the major new shows for the ABC this year?

1. After the Beep -- bloody terrible
2. Mercury -- boring

And so on.

It's my understanding that their only real successes have been
imported shows (e.g., Pride and Prejudice).  Otherwise, they've been
wasting too much resources on too little talent.
