Greetings all! Seems everyone wants to update at once! Austrains has just announced that the H class will be included in the T class run, still on time for delivery in September. There will be 3 H class, VR Blue, V/Line Orange and Freight Australia Green. The T class photo competition has been judged, congratulations to Chris Nelson, Alan Curtis, Robert Redman and Dean. John will be in touch directly to arrange reservation of your loco(s). We still need a good photo of a Second series High Nose T in V/line orange and grey, so the competition for that particular variation has been extended. So if any of you have a good clear photo of a High nose T in V/line colours and would like the chance of scoring a free T class model of your choice, please send entries to me, with the subject line "Austrains T class Competition" by Friday 25th February 2005. John seems to like giving models away, and as we also need a good photo of a CLP in AN Green and Silver for the webpage, he is offering a CLP Twin Pack as prize for the most suitable photo(s) of an AN Green and Silver CL submitted. Please send these to me also, subject line "Austrains CLP Competition", also by Friday 25th February 2005. Also added are photos of the recently released C class in National Rail and Silverton liveries. The remaining 80 class have been on special for a while, but we just noticed while doing the update that the 80 class page had not been changed to reflect that, while the order page had the reduced price. So if you haven't noticed that the 80 class are available at a greatly reduced price, and you want one, (or two, or three..... ;-) now is the time! Eureka Models have also updated with the latest edition of "The Eureka Times", featuring a factory rendition of the 60 class drawn from the working drawings for the model, which gives a *very* accurate idea of what the finished model will look like. Also announced is optional sound for the 620 class, which also includes a DCC chip as part of the package. The model will work, straight out of the box, on either standard 12vDC or DCC, and the sound effects will also work on either standard 12vDC or DCC, though of course, DCC will allow access to a greater variety of auxiliary sounds. The optional sound/DCC chip package will also be available for the Garratt. As well there is a "potted" history of the AD60 class, written by well known author and modeller Ian Dunn. I even hear a rumour that the Trainorama webpage will be getting a major update next week! Neat stuff! And that Lambing Flat layout is fantastic. Looks like it could be Texas.
