Are they really necessary?
Maybe, when dentist has to pull a tooth, he may need to know whether he
is dealing with a straight root, or a twisted one. But otherwise?
Most dental caries makes itself evident, and can be dealt with
accordingly.
What do x-ray pictures show which is necessary, for treatment?
And how often does an x-ray scan of your whole teeth need to occur?
Once?
While taking x-rays might be a nice money earner, it should be
minimised - as latest news is that they put the patient at risk of brain
tumor.
Not likely? Why then do dentist and assistant vacate room when x-ray
machine is active?
And there's that heavy (lead?) pad they place on your chest.
So, if dentist says he'd like to take an x-ray - again - can the victim
say, "No"?
(Of course, if you do get a tumor, doc can always say "Sorry".)
