On looking at the book again, you're quite right. Go for it. To make it even
better, why don't you invest the money for 4.9 years at x% (around 6-7% at the
moment) and really make a killing...

The 33% refers to the initial amount of Austudy/Abstudy that students lose
to get their "loan". Of course it wouldn't apply to people not eligible
for Austudy/Abstudy.
