Every year the U.S. government issues 55,000 immigrant visas to
natives of countries that are believed to be under-represented in visa
allocations. The visas are issued through a lottery system whereby
certain regions are allotted a certain number of visas.  The
applications/entries must be received by the National Visa Center
between Noon on Friday, October 24, 1997, and Noon on Monday, November
24, 1997.  The applications/entries must be perfectly filled out, but
there is no official form.  The Applicant needs to know what is
required.  A great number of applications are rejected because of
minor errors in preparation.
