I have been trying to install Sunlink Internet Router Version 4.0 onto
a Sun 4/165 running SunOS 4.1.1, and having problems.
The new kernel is generated ok, and boots, but as soon as any network
software is loaded (eg portmap), the machine crashes with a "BAD TRAP"
error.
Sun tell me that the versions should work together.. has anyone seen
this before??
Thanks,

Accoring to the July 1992 Sun Tecnical Bulletin, the latest release of
SunLink IR is 6.0 (!). I would hesitate to put my memory to the test, but
version 4.0 sounds like it is 1989 vintage software (possibly runs on
SunOS 4.0 or thereabouts).
BTW, what is a Sun 4/165?
