Firstly, thanks to all those who responded to my last question, some time
back now. I did intend to thank you all through e-mail but would have
taken too much time.
I'm wanting to include converted NCAR metafiles (as postscript) in latex
documents, amongst the surrounding test. I am currently finding that
the figure is put on a page by itself. I guess I could put in a
BoundingBox statement etc. but I want to find a more convenient
method. I could use something like 'xgrabsc' to produce the eps
but may find it difficult to keep size consistency.
If I use plt -d ps.mono -q -a gmeta > gmeta.ps
If I set up my latex preamble with the following macros:
\newcommand{\postscript}[2]
{\setlength{\epsfxsize}{#2\hsize}
\centerline{\epsfbox{#1}}}
Then refer to the postscript in my document via:
\begin{figure}[h]
\postscript{gmeta.ps}{0.75}
\end{figure}
After running dvips (5.47), I find that the figure is on a page by itself.
I have checked for other devices than ps.mono (eg eps.mono) but none
seems to exist. Firstly is there another version, or newer version
which supports the eps format?
Or secondly, is there an alternative program to plt which will do this
for me?
Or thirdly, does somebody out there have post processor for vanilla type
postscript which will do the encapsulating?
Or fourthly, do you have some other creative suggestions?
Arrivederci and thanks kindly,
Mark Collier.
