Users,

How do I DISPLAY a '.dvi' file created by Latex onto an X station
using say the DISPLAY environment variable.

Many thanks....

You can view a DVI file using a program such as ``xdvi''. If you are
running xdvi and the X server on the same machine, you can leave your
DISPLAY environment variable as ``unix:0'' or ``displayhost:0''.

If you run the X server and xdvi on separate machines, give xdvi's
machine permission to generate output on your display. Below is a
possible series of actions in both machines:

COMPUTE HOST
$ setenv DISPLAY displayhost:0

DISPLAY HOST
$ xhost +computehost
computehost being added to access control list

Read the comp.windows.x.* newsgroups for more detail about X.
