Channel Nine will be showing today's ODI (India vs Sri Lanka) on GEM today, in HD according to the guides. There is an article about this move in today's Adelaide Advertiser, but it doesn't mention HD. Has Nine shown cricket in HD before (if so, presumably it would have been when they were simulcasting their main channel in HD)?

I thought channels were HD or not rather than programs HD or not on any channel. If GEM is an HD channel then I imagine that the cricket would be shown on it in HD. Note: This entire post could be utter bullshit.

The HD channels can only be recieved on a HD reciever, but most are showing SD content almost exclusively these days. Any correlation between a "HD channel" and actual HD content is now rare at best. Good that they are airing it in HD but are they airing it live or are they screwing Cricket fans again and airing it delayed?
