ba da romp da romp da dum....

At the last Board of Directors meeting, yours truly was elected to chair the
BBS Liaison Committee. Imagine my excitement, especially, when looking up
the word "liaison" in my dictionary, discovered that it means an illicit
union between man & woman. I'm excited.

Until then, the BBS Committee has two official tasks.

1) Distributing EFF-Austin information. Unlike USENET, which one post
carries it to all corners of the network, it's much harder for private
networks. I am wanting to create a team who will call BBS systems to post
announcements and upload files. We need to seriously start pushing the
upcoming Public Forum on The Net. TheEFF-Austin newsletter should be ready
for distribution in a week, as well, depending on how quickly I complete it.

This is not many of you, but if you regularly call BBS systems, in addition
to reading USENET, then please e-mail me if you're interested.

2) Creating an EFF-Austin BBS. Network. I'm still working on the logistics,
but the model I've come up with is to have a primary distribution point
connected to a network of private BBS systems. I have the primary point
selected already, but anyone can join the network. If you're the sysop of a
BBS, and want to be included, e-mail me as well. Specifically, this means
George Wentzel and Tom Parrish, though there might be more sysops lurking out
there somewhere. If you are, let me know. Be the first on your block.
