Striping non Avid drives?

Hi,

I connected 4 36GB Seagate Cheetahs LVD as a stripe set (stripe was done
under NT disk administrator - 4 way stripe - ) to the Atto controler.

I can capture and playback fine at 1:1 compression, but I can't use
diskmounter and everytime I want to digitize I have to disable the 1:1 drive
filter etc. to find my stripeset and as soon as I change any setting in the
digitizing menu the drive letter is changed...

How do register the drives to be recognized by the Avid program? Also what
is the best way to stripe the drives? Would it be better to create 2
partions on every drive and make a 8way stripe...or..?

Thank you in advance for any help and suggestions.

Mike
