I have an AMD K6-2 400 mghz w\64 MB memory. I installed a 40x cdrom, a 8.2
gig HD. The motherboard has a built in 4mb AGP video card and an onboard
sound card. I have WIN98 upgrade installed. My problem is that the cdrom
driver doesnt always install When it does it works fine. When it doesn't ,
If I look in the control panel under system in the performance part it shows
that all my drives are running in real dos page mode. This pc doesn't seem
to like anything to do with anything that works in dos. I can't even get the
sound card dos drivers to work. also sometimes when the cdrom driver doesn't
load instead of not showing the cdrom drive in MY COMPUTER, it will show it
as a removable disk. I look in the control panel again under SYSTEM in the
device manager it won't show a cdrom installed but look under ide drive it
will be installed there as a disk with alot of jibberish next to it. THIS
HAS BEEN A COMPUTER FROM HELL FOR ME. Can anyone help me please?
