install problem

i am attempting to install photoshp 3.0 on to my PC 
running windows95.

installation goes fine.....
then when i try to open the program i get an illegal opperation.

pressing "details" mentions something about a kernel32.dll file

then a message says "restrictions on computer have caused cancelation"
or something like that.

any info would be great........thanks
