Recently we posted advertisements on several newsgroups. Apparently we
offended someone who in turn reported us to hypermart for "spamming". It
has been our policy not to spam, we do not send out emails and only post to
newsgroups that have some relevancy to our business. We posted offering
free satellite systems to newsgroups that were (1) sales, product or general
info, (2) had a topic that would find the product of interest (for instance,
phx.eats was advertised in because of the availability of the FOOD Network
and other related programming that the people in that group would find of
interest...the same for az.sf since this system is the only one that gets
UPN (several stations of UPN in fact) that shows Voyager, as well as sci-fi
and other stations of interest) and (3) newsgroups that were in the general
location of our business...ie Phoenix, AZ. It was not the intention of any
representative of TES to spam. If this advertisement offended you, please
accept our sincerest apology.

We do not know who it was that sent the complaint, therefore are posting
this apology to all the newsgroups we sent to. You should know that we have
lost our website host (hypermart) and this has cost us customers, time and
money. We hope that your complaint was legitimate and that it was made by
someone officially associated with a newsgroup and not by a competitor
trying to gain an 'edge'. We once again wish to express sincere apologies
to anyone who was or is offended by our posting, we have no intention of
"spamming" or offending anyone.

We do feel that we should be able to advertise our business and service on
newsgroups that are relevant. Please note that we intend to post to the
following newsgroups. If any of these newsgroup administrators or patrons
have a problem with our posting, please contact us at tesdish@uswest.net and
let us know. Today is 1/14/2000 and we will refrain from posting any new
advertisements (including our new website address) for 72 hours pending any
responses, requests or complaints.

The following newsgroups will be posted to unless otherwise contacted,

General newsgroups such as:
az.forsale
az.general
az.wanted
clari.local.arizona
phx.buy-sell-trade
free.loader.phoenix
phx.general
phx.indirect.announce
phx.onramp.announce
phx.onramp.general

Special Interest Newsgroups who would have an interest in our product:
az.politics
az.sf
clari.sports.local.southwest.arizona
phx.eats

And employment newsgroups, (we do have open positions available):
az.jobs
phx.jobs.wanted

If your newsgroup has been listed and you do not wish to see our posting
there, please contact us at tesdish@uswest.net with your request or
complaint. Please let us know what your affiliation with the newsgroup is
and what your specific request or complaint is.

Again, it is not our policy to spam and we hope that this apology and notice
will be helpful in creating a pleasant relationship between TESDISH and the
newsgroup community in the Phoenix area. Thank you for your consideration.
