I would like propose a new group: az.sf.fandom for Arizona Science Fiction
Fandom. It could be extremely useful.

This group is needed to coordinate several Science Fiction/Fantasy fan clubs
that normally do not communicate directly because of the nature of their
organization, interests, meeting times, location, or just plain don't know
how. Coordination is needed to exchange convention and event information.

Also local science fiction fans may not know what clubs exist or how to
contact them.

This group would not be for discussions of the genre. rec.arts.sf.* ,
rec.arts.startrek.* , rec.arts.tv.babylon5 , etc. are quite adequate to handle
that.

The group needs to be for Arizona because Tucson and Flagstaff have clubs that
share resources.

Some possible clubs that could utilize this group would be: The United
Federation of Phoenix (Star Trek & gen SF club), TARDIS (Dr. Who & gen SF
club), The International Federation Council (Star Trek club), The Central
Arizona Speculative Fiction Society (literary and convention club), The
United Whovians of Tucson (Dr. Who club), Star Base Tucson (Star Trek club),
The USS Phoenix (Star Trek club), THEM (ASU gen SF club), and The Phoenix
Fantasy Film Society (animation & film club).
