The problem with e-goups, yahoo clubs or excite communities is that it
fractionalizes the number of places that AZ singles can post. There are over
30 groups just in yahoo alone with an AZ connection. By having a newsgroup
it gives everyone a location central place to post using a newsreader.

There are a local versions to personals in the NG such as la.personals,
sdnet.personals, chi.personal, nyc.personals, houston.personals etc, etc.
