works fine.  Keep in mind that cable internet is a party line.  Traffic
out on the cble is visible to your neighbors and visa versa.  The more
neighbors you have on the line, the less your available bandwidth.

I'm paying the extra $20 for the higher speed version.  I routinely get 
over a MB/second.  Compare that to DSL's top speed of about .15MB/s.
Upload speeds suck however;  standard cable internet is 128Kb/s or 16KB/s.
(b=bit; B=byte)  The higher speed version is good for upload speeds of
1024Kb/s (128KB/s)
