PLEASE HELP !!! I now have an account with Primenet, I don't think I have to go too much deeper into an explination as to why I need advice about Internet providers in the Phoenix area. In my quest for speed since I opened my account I have upgraded to a 28.8 USR Sportster Vi DSVD along with a 486dx4. Can't take advantage of my system capibiilities with Primenet, can't even get through the BUSY signals to try. When I can connect I can look forward to fast data transfers in-between long periods of waiting for server CPU time. (Personal opinion): Primenet has simply over-booked their system capibilities and is soaking the general public as long as they can before upgrading their operation to accomidate their subscription base. (End of Personal opinion) I have basically accepted the fact that within the time frame around 1830 to 0100hr Primenet is useless. It is true the contract allowes you 150 hr/mo for $20.95, but if you have a typical day job you don't usually attempt to logon until ~1900hr. That pretty much cuts way back on 5 hours a day for a 30 day month. I'm not a difficult person to satisfy, but if a service is useles because of over booking, why would I continue to subscribe? I would happily use as a reference anyone that can direct me to a modem connect Internet provider that is acceptable at best. Larry e-mail lswitt@primenet.com (for now)!
