        Announcing the Second Annual SCO Open Desktop
                Products of the Year Contest.
SCO sponsors this contest each year to select and promote
the very best products developed for SCO Open Desktop.  The
contest will culminate at SCO Forum92, held August 17-21 at
the University of California, Santa Cruz.

SCO will accept contest entries in the following product categories:
        o Business Application Software
        o Engineering/Scientific Application Software
        o System Utility Software
        o Software Development Tools
        o Peripheral/Hardware Products

Each finalist's organization will receive one free admission to
SCO Forum92 (housing and transportation not included) in order to
participate in final judging and the award ceremony.  One winner
will be selected from each category.

How The Products Will Be Judged:
An independent panel of judges will consider a number of factors
in selecting the 15 finalists from the written entries.  The
criterion includes product description, use of SCO Open Desktop's
integrated services, innovative features, market position,
pricing considerations, and system requirements.  This first
round of judging will account for 40% of a product's total score.

Judging of the finalists at SCO Forum92 will account for 60% of
the product's score and will cover product packaging,
documentation, ease of use, display of sales and marketing
collateral, and -- most important of all -- a product
demonstration lasting no more than ten minutes, by which the
judges will make their final decision.

To qualify, written contest entries must be received by SCO
Developer Relations no later than April 15, 1992.  SCO will
notify finalists by May 19.  Contest events at SCO Forum92 will
include final judging on August 18, and the SCO Open Desktop
Products of the Year Contest awards ceremony held August 19.
