Alpine Road - Caution - Road Work

Hi All:

There is substantial road constructions that affects the bike lane on
Alpine Road. The roadwork begins near the intersection of Junipero
Serra Boulevard and continues until a little further the Ladera
Community Church Center. The surface of the bike lane has essentially
been cut up (has a funky cris cross pattern) to lay down a new surface
of asphalt. Rode through this area last week multiple times and
didn't see this, so it must have occured this week.

Those of you who ride well through adverse terrain will do fine but
those that don't navigate such stuff as well (me for example) should
avoid that road until the renovations have been completed. It feels
like I hydroplane over that surface, which doesn't inspire confident
riding.

If you're going to do a Portola Loop, you might just want to use
Arrastradero Road from Pagemill Road to get to/from Portola Valley.

Safe & Happy Riding,
Claude Luu
