In like-new condition. I only rode the bike around Lake Tahoe once before having an injury that forces me to take medicine that requires me not to ride again. I bought this frame and fork new and unused FROM Team Rabobank so it really is a Team Rabobank bike and not just a paint job. Team Rabobank XL Colnago C40 (59 cm C-T) Colnago carbon seatpost Chorus carbon cranks, brakes and shifters Centaur derailleurs (I didn't want carbon derailleurs) Weyless carbon stem Easton EC90 carbon bars Kyserium wheels $3000 - about a third of what it cost me.

Tom: You really need to just bite the bullet and put your stuff on eBay. If there's anyone interested, that's where you're going to find them. You won't get the price you want, but you'll get the market price, and you *will* sell it. Whether it's a brand new bike on my floor that has a $10,000 price tag or your almost-new bike that originally cost $9000, all that matters is what the market is willing to pay for that particular bike. The larger your marketplace, the better the odds are of finding someone who will want your particular bike. Also, do some research for what similar bikes are going for on eBay, and when you mention what it cost you, keep in mind nobody cares what it cost *you*, what they care about is what it sold for. There's a subtle but significant difference, because a dispassionate buyer (most are) doesn't care that you personally are losing money on the deal. All they care about is what they are saving. Keep the "me" stuff out of it. If you do go the eBay route, think about including a shot of the serial number with it. That will greatly increase credibility that it's not a stolen bike, and likely net you more $$$. Good luck- --Mike Jacoubowsky Chain Reaction Bicycles www.ChainReaction.com Redwood City & Los Altos, CA USA

If/when you do put it on eBay, let us know so we can watch it. It's kinda fun, especially those last few minutes. I think the best piece of advice I gave was to include the serial number. That would really set you apart from everyone else, and make buyers more confident, especially if you don't already have a high seller rating. --Mike-- Chain Reaction Bicycles www.ChainReactionBicycles.com "Tom Kunich" <tkunich@earthlink.net> wrote in message news:H_OdnajCpo78lu3QnZ2dnUVZ_r-dnZ2d@earthlink.com... > Thanks for the advice Mike. > > "Mike Jacoubowsky" <MikeJ@ChainReaction.com> wrote in message > news:CqqdnTr4MsvhY_LQnZ2dnUVZ_gWdnZ2d@earthlink.com... >> "Tom Kunich" <tkunich@earthlink.net> wrote in message >> news:CKmdnRG669oyKvLQnZ2dnUVZ_q6dnZ2d@earthlink.com... >>> In like-new condition. I was very concerned about the legality of the bikes I looked at. I even questioned the seller outright as to the source, and made sure I had a home address for him. Definitely having credentials, such as the serial number to check up on, would favor that seller and land him a better price. -- __ (oO) www.cosmoslair.com /||\ Cthulhu Saves!!! The real problem I'm having is having people send me phoney checks. I've gotten three so far - two counterfeit cashier's checks and a counterfeit private check. Most of these counterfeiters are afraid to counterfeit postal money orders since the post office actually prosecutes people doing such. Banks just say it's worthless and couldn't care less.

Tom: As much as I dislike eBay because they don't do simple things that would reduce the amount of stolen merchandise fenced through them, the combination of paypal plus buyer & seller feedback mechanisms do two things that would be of help to you- #1: You'd get *real* buyers bidding for your bike, offering *real* prices. Right now, you may have your hopes artificially raised because people *are* willing to meet your price... but you find out later that they're bogus. Your bike is worth as much as a legit buyer will pay for it, not a penny more. #2: eBay removes most of the worry regarding getting paid. --Mike-- Chain Reaction Bicycles www.ChainReactionBicycles.com

I intend to use Ebay but not until the weather warms up a bit. In the meantime I'll keep it out on Craig's List just in case.

It has to do with how many people are getting out to ride and so the numbers who want newer or nicer bikes.
