While watching the evening newscast on KGO TV on Thursday
night, I learned Don Sanchez will retire after spending forty
years at KGO. His last movie review was "Zero Dark Thirty"
and last day was yesterday.

My fondest memory of his work was when he was anchoring
the 5pm newscast. They did a story on Amy Fisher aka the
Long Island Lolita and showed a video of her stripping down
to her underwear. The cut back to Sanchez showed him with
a stunned expression and he must've wondered when did the
news program turned into the tabloid show "Entertainment
Tonight". He recovered quickly and quipped, "I bet she won't
be doing that in this freezing weather. And here's Pete Giddens
with the weather report."

Thanks for the memories, Mr. Sanchez. Here's a full bucket
to you and we'll see you on the aisle.

That's the kind of story I like to see. Let's have more transparency
in broadcasting.

Merry Xmas from Los Angeles!
