As reported by Andrew Ross at the San Francisco Chronicle, KGO is dismissing its contributors but not laying off staffers: http://blog.sfgate.com/bottomline/2013/03/14/more-cuts-at-kgo-radio/

Nevius; who else would be considered a "contributor" at KGO? Patty

Sounds like the usual hijinks and/or hilarity @ "55 Hee-Haw".

Just the other day, I was reflecting on how snide they have been, as of lately...perhaps he knew it was coming. I can only hope that the bulk of KGO's extremely talented, hard-working staff of reporters, producers, traffic announcers, interns, etc.. aren't axed. OTOH, getting rid of Tim "Monty" Montemayor would be a plus, IMO.

Given that there is no real future for them at KGO, that might be a merciful gesture. Getting rid of people because the station can't afford them anymore should be a signal to those that remain that maybe it is time for them to go as well. > OTOH, getting rid of Tim "Monty" Montemayor would be a plus, IMO. Given that his apparent maturity level is about that of a twelve-year-old, he should be right in line with management's desire to attract a younger demographic. -- John Higdon +1 775 253 3838
