Yeah, Tom Sullivan had that forced "folksy/aw-shucks" kind of ultra-conservatism that usually masked a mean-spirited bent, IMO.
However, I*did* like the feature where the listeners got to call in & leave short pre-recorded rants.

As one who has filled-in for talk shows, I have to agree. It's a fine line between self-indulgence & entertaining the listeners.
That being said, without the callers and interesting guests, it's just not an interesting listen. A certain non-commercial community FM station I once filled in at in the South Bay Area comes to mind...;)
