I am amazed at how many kids text books and web sites
warn of the "danger" of very pure water.  Eg, you will die
if you drink distilled water. perfectly pure water is a 
danger.   I know first hand this is bunk, but the Net is
sure full of scares on pure water. 

As an example, I grow sprouts using "distilled" water,
that has zero parts per million of dissolved solids.
The sprouts love it, and grow faster than they do with
tap water.  My cat has been drinking the same "zero"
water for 11 years and still is 100% a functioning cat.
