Hi guys!

I need some of your expertise. I REALLY wanted to try my hand at
grafting. I love those grafted cacti with the different colors. I'd
like to try my and at different shapes. So what are the guidelines?
Do they need to be the same genus, family, or what?

One of the middles of my grafted "colored" cacti rotted - but i
plucked of some of the tiny bits to attempt a transplant.
Suggestions.

I' also gardening on a hillside. Getting a handle on where the sun is
and for how long is maddening. No to mention the temperature
fluctuations. Is there some kind of simple disk to tell me the
exposure and intensity in a certain place after being left a day?

Also what is the best cheap thermometer? I'm hanging it on the side
of the house - I think its keeping it from being accurate. Yet the sun
also does this.

I also have acquired a large place next too a creek that was a hill
literally SHAVED off. Solid rock. Can't even touch it with a pick
axe. I Laid down some soil and windflowers with LOTS of subs oilers
like purple vetch and tons of clover. I'm stating to see some humus
and the surface is getting a bit more crumbly. For now I think its a
windflower patch and a picnic area. Any ideas besides dynamite to get
something to grow in this area?

I also bought a new variegated albutilon (flowering maple) We have
two lanky ones in back that somehow were untouched by the freeze. Can
anyone give me advice on these guys and most importantly - what I
plant in winter will thrive but how will I know it will survive the
specific spot in summer? Help?

BTW - I have some unusual seeds to trade with anyone if you are
interested. A black holly hock chinese long beans, some red poppies -
those suckers grow like weeds! I love 'em.

Please let me know There are a few things I want i'm sure can be
gotten at any big plant store - I just don't have access being in
cloverdale. Either way - write me - Id love to hear from yo all with
like minds. Your all such kind folk.

Cheers, Glenn
